Battle Abbey to Rogers Pass Ski Traverse

This great adventure will take you through some of the most spectacular mountains in the Southern Selkirk’s in Western Canada. Our Starting point will be Battle Abbey a 15-minute flight from Golden B.C. From Battle Abbey we will be traveling North through stunning, glaciated mountains, and not see a soul for the entire trip. On this journey we will have opportunities to climb and ski mountains such as Mt. Wheeler 11000ft/3353m, Sugar Loaf 10,700 ft/3261m, Grand Mountain 10,700/3261m, Beaver Overlook 9600ft/2926m and possibly Terminal Peak 9400ft/2850m in Rogers Pass.

Fitness level:

This is strenuous backcountry ski mountaineering in Alpine and mostly glaciated terrain, using alpine touring (randonne) or sturdy telemark equipment. You must be able to ski safely and controlled at all times while wearing a heavy backpack (40lb – 50lb). Depending on the conditions, we might have to rope up while skiing both up and downhill. You will need to be in good physical and mental condition and ready to be on your feet for about 7-10 hours. Winter Camping skills are recommended. Fitness level:

We will be trekking and climbing at high altitude. This is very demanding and a reasonable level of fitness is imperative for a successful trip. A training program starting about one month before you embark on this adventure will enhance your enjoyment and experience. Package Includes:

• Technical equipment, such as two person/4 season tents; camping gear; ect…an equipment check list for your personal gear will be sent out once I receive the booking confirmation.
• Satellite phone
• All meals – Breakfast/lunches/dinners/snacks
• Helicopter flight
• Ground transport from Rogers Pass back to Golden
• Guiding service (2 ACMG guides)

• Extra hotel nights – before or after the traverse
• Transport to Golden prior to the trip
• Travel, accident or cancellation insurance; so please enquire with your Local insurer or credit card Company for details

Meeting Place:

The time and place where we meet will be announced in the information package that I send out once I receive the deposit. I can also organize a shuttle from Calgary Airport upon request. Cancellation policies:

The deposit less 10% is refundable up to 90 days prior to trip commencement. From 60 to 90 days the deposit is refundable less 15%. For cancellations within 60 days of trip commencement, there is no refund unless you can find a replacement. If Great Divide Mountaineering cancels the trip, you will receive a 100% refund.

If the balance is less than $500.00, I will need the full amount to reserve your spot. The refund is the same as the above.
