Fairy Meadows Ski Week

Over the years, Fairy Meadows has become extremely popular and a favorite destination for backcountry skiers from around the world.

The Hut:

Bill Putnam Hut (Fairy Meadows) is situated at 6700 feet/2050m. It is located in the Adamant Range in the Northern Selkirks, approximately 30 to 40 km north of Rogers Pass. The venue includes a sauna, wood stove for heat, propane stove for cooking, and for lighting there is propane and Coleman lanterns.

Skiing:

The skiing is mostly above tree line on heavily glaciated terrain, however there is also good tree skiing below the hut. The terrain is quite complex with a mixture of mellow to quite steep slopes. Runs are generally 1000 to 1600 ft (300m to 500m) in length. There can be many opportunities to summit various peaks in the area if conditions allow.

Fitness level:

You will need to be a strong intermediate skier with a reasonable fitness level, capable of skiing 4000 vertical feet in a day. Your endurance level should be such that you could stay out skiing for 6 to 8 hours.

Deposit: Upon booking I will need a deposit of TBA.

Meeting Place:

The time and place where we meet will be announced in the information package that I send out once I receive the deposit. I can also organize a shuttle from Calgary Airport upon request. Cancellation policies:

The deposit less 10% is refundable up to 90 days prior to trip commencement. From 60 to 90 days the deposit is refundable less 15%. For cancellations within 60 days of trip commencement, there is no refund unless you can find a replacement. If Great Divide Mountaineering cancels the trip, you will receive a 100% refund.

If the balance is less than $500.00, I will need the full amount to reserve your spot. The refund is the same as the above.
