Icefall Lodge

The Hut:

Icefall Lodge is a comfortable backcountry lodge located in the Canadian Rockies, 60 km north of Golden, British Columbia. It is the perfect base for hut based ski touring and ski mountaineering. Ski trips are one week long and are helicopter accessed. You will share a huge area (over 200 square km) with a small group of friends.

Skiing:

The lodge is located on the western side of the divide, which results in a very deep snow pack. The 3 to 4 meter (10 feet) base provides ski tours on long big glaciers, huge alpine bowls, ski summits and steep trees when it is snowing. Package Includes:

• Return helicopter from Golden

• Accommodation at Icefall Lodge for 7 nights

• All food prepared and cooked by chef Kelly (Backcountry Bistro)

• Guiding by an ACMG Ski Guide and a ACMG/UIAGM Mountain Guide

Deposit: Upon booking I will need a deposit of $1000 CAD or $1000 USD.

Fitness level:

You will need to be a strong intermediate to advance skier with a reasonable fitness level, capable of skiing 5000 to 6000 vertical feet in a day. Your endurance level should be such that you could stay out skiing for 7 to 8 hours.

Meeting Place:

The time and place where we meet will be announced in the information package that I send out once I receive the deposit. I can also organize a shuttle from Calgary Airport to Canmore upon request. Cancellation policies:

The deposit less 10% is refundable up to 90 days prior to trip commencement. From 60 to 90 days the deposit is refundable less 15%. For cancellations within 60 days of trip commencement, there is no refund unless you can find a replacement. If Great Divide Mountaineering cancels the trip, you will receive a 100% refund.

If the balance is less than $500.00, I will need the full amount to reserve your spot. The refund is the same as the above.
