Rock Climbing

Canmore, Banff and Lake Louise offer unlimited amount of rock climbing for all abilities. From first time beginners to experienced climbers there are endless choices anywhere from single-pitch sport routes to multi-pitch traditional climbs.

There is an interesting selection of rock-types to discover. You will find your self-climbing Limestone in the Bow Valley, and Quartzite in the Lake Louise area. Approximately a 3-hour drive from Canmore, you will be in awe of the spectacular granite spires of the Bugaboos.

When you are looking for a warm place to climb in the spring or fall there is the clean Gneiss rock of Skaha in Penticton, a 5-hour drive from Canmore.
